SORA Modification
Paraclete Forensic is successful in providing reports to support sex offender modification petitions.
We compile a report for your attorney, the SORA board, and the court that details all the rehabilitative efforts you have made and the changes in your life since the offense.
The SORA board will consider the following factors when reviewing your petition, which become the focus of our report:
Considerable time crime-free while in the community
Crime-free while no longer under supervision
Evidence of rehabilitation and an upstanding lifestyle
Compliance with all terms of community supervision
Completion of sex offender treatment
Living with an intimate partner for two years or more
Current age
Stabilizing factors—family, employment, education, and pro-social activities
Physical disabilities or impairments that reduce the risk of reoffending
Recent assessment by a clinical psychologist concluding that there is a low risk of reoffending
Participation in drug or alcohol counseling

Criminal Mitigation
Paraclete Forensic Mitigation is proficient in preparing DWI, pre-plea, and sentencing reports.
The sooner you begin the mitigation process, the more tools your attorney will have to negotiate the best outcome.
Sometimes, mental health or substance abuse issues lead to poor decision-making.
Paraclete Forensic Mitigation can help you access beneficial services.
Voluntary participation in seeking help before it's mandated demonstrates to the prosecutor and the court an intention to change.

Resentencing & Early Termination of Supervision
Due to the enactment of the Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act in 2019, the court may now consider the lasting and devastating effects of domestic violence on an individual who has been subjected to it.
The individual must demonstrate the following:
At the time of the instant offense, the individual was a victim of substantial physical, sexual, or psychological abuse inflicted by a member of the same family or household.
The abuse was a "significant contributing factor" to the individual's "criminal behavior."
Considering the nature and circumstances of the crime, as well as the individual's history, character, and condition, the sentence of imprisonment that was or would be imposed is "unduly harsh."
With sensitivity and respect for the individual, Paraclete Forensic Mitigation's skilled interviews identify any need for additional experts, sources of documentation to support incidents of domestic violence, and contribute to the completion of comprehensive reports in support of the attorney’s resentencing petition under the Domestic Violence Survivors Justice Act.
